Senior Vice President, General Counsel; Corporate Secretary
Ms. Lauderdale is the Chief Legal Officer of PBS and manages the Office of the General Counsel, which includes the Legal and Business Affairs departments, as well as the Corporate Secretary's Office, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, and Program Underwriting Policy departments. The Legal Department is responsible for providing a wide range of services with respect to intellectual property, litigation, regulatory, labor, corporate and other legal matters. The Business Affairs Department, among other activities, negotiates content agreements for PBS programming services. The Corporate Secretary’s Office assists the Board and CEO in the management of board affairs by creating and maintaining official board records and providing governance counsel. Legislative and Regulatory Affairs provides guidance to senior management on government affairs issues and manages the company’s relationships on the Hill and at federal agencies. The Program Underwriting Policy department is responsible for oversight of compliance with FCC, Underwriting Regulations and administering sponsorship policies designed to preserve the editorial integrity of PBS content services.
Prior to joining PBS in June 2002, Ms. Lauderdale was Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, and General Counsel at WTTW in Chicago, where she served in various legal, business and business affairs capacities. Ms. Lauderdale is a graduate of New York University Law School and began her legal career as an associate at the Chicago law firm of Schiff, Hardin & Waite.
