Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Barbara Landes is responsible for fostering the financial activities and fiscal health of the organization and serves as chief strategic planning officer. She plays a key role in assessing new business opportunities and revenue streams in new and traditional media developing strategic alliances and partnerships; and focusing on internal financial performance.
Prior to joining PBS, Landes was Vice President, Business Planning, AOL for Broadband. While at AOL, she was also Vice President, Performance Management, AOL Vertical Markets Group/AOL Inc. and Vice President, Strategic Businesses, AOL Interactive Services.
From 1999-2000, Landes was Executive Vice President and CFO at AverStar. She was also the CFO of Watson Wyatt Worldwide from 1994-1998. She has extensive experience in broadcast media and has held key financial and management positions at WWOR-TV as SVP Finance and Operations; Pinelands, Inc. as CFO and Treasurer; NBC as VP Finance, NBC Radio and as VP financial planning and analysis, NBC Corporate; and CBS as Assistant Controller, CBS News. She started her career in the CBS Television Network. Landes has served on the National Board of Directors of Girls Inc. since 1998, including four years as Treasurer and Chair of its Fiscal Oversight Committee. She also served as a Trustee of the Suburban Hospital Foundation, as a member of its Finance Committee and as a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Suburban Hospital Healthcare System. Landes received her B.A. from Washington University (St. Louis, MO) and her M.B.A. from the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania.
