The Establishment of an Endowment

The driving motivation behind the creation of the PBS Foundation was the establishment of an endowment – a permanent fund that utilizes interest income from principle to support existing programs and services and to promote highest priority needs.

Endowment funds will lend support to PBS in perpetuity, building a legacy for the future of public television and ensuring that generations to come will continue to benefit from all that PBS has to offer.

PBS is the nation's most trusted institution, above even the government and courts of law and it deserves to have a steady, reliable stream of funding. Supporting our endowment will help us achieve that.
