PBS’s weekly public affairs program, NOW, won the National Business Emmy for “Outstanding Coverage of a Current Business News Story -- Newsmagazine and Long Form” on December 4th in New York City.
The winning episode, entitled “Health Care Franchise,” was the first in a bi-monthly report called “Ideas that Work,” which was made possible by a grant awarded through the PBS Foundation Social Entrepreneurship Fund in 2006.
“Ideals That Work,” a product of JumpStart Productions, covers innovative stories on how business techniques are being applied to help solve social problems around the world. PBS stations across the country aired the series which also included extensive online elements that enabled people to take action in their own communities.
