In this lesson, students will learn about the diversity of
countries, peoples and geography that exist on the continent
of Africa. They will construct a pictorial and a cultural map
of the African continent. Students will read accounts of the
daily lives of African youths from a variety of countries.
Most importantly students will learn why it is important to
ask the question, "Where" when a person is talking about
Africa.
1. Students will develop an understanding of the
diversity of countries, peoples, and geography that exists on
the continent of Africa.
2. Students will construct a map of Africa that
illustrates the geographical differences that exist on the
African continent.
3. Students will produce a class chart to compare the
cultures of the different countries on the African continent.
4. Students will describe daily life in different African
countries.
