CD-Rom and Online Course:
Identity & Place in Contemporary Art

In collaboration with Davis Publications, professor Don Krug, PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Vancouver, British Columbia has created a CD-Rom and online course and in contemporary art based on the Art:21 series. “Identity and Place in Contemporary Art" explores ideas and issues surrounding art, identity, and place including how these concepts have been studied, developed, and transformed by contemporary artists. Through the art and words of living artists, participating teachers learn to weave ideas and issues about place and identity into their teaching. The Art:21 series, Educators' Guides, Web site, and Companion Books serve as the companion resources for this course. Additional readings, interactive discussions, and an online artist index are available for teachers to conduct their own research. Although this course is not currently being offered for graduate credit, the self-paced CD-Rom is available from Davis Publications.
