special projects Special projects, which often connect featured artists with local communities, deepen the conversations started in the broadcast series. Art:21 works with individuals, cultural organizations, and educational institutions to create new forums that bridge new art and important ideas with local interests. We encourage you to consider how the themes, critical issues, questions, and works of art presented in the series might inspire important dialogue in your community.
We collaborate with museums, community centers, and universities on a variety of models for bringing the work and ideas of featured artists to local communities. Consider the local forums, audiences, and issues in your community. If you are interested in sponsoring a special project featuring an Art:21 artist, consider local state or private funding that might be available. Examples of funding resources you may want to explore include: • Local and state cultural councils • Campus activities funds • School district professional development funding • Regional foundations Art:21 staff are also available to make presentations and lead workshops, but funding for travel, staff time, supplies, honorariums, and other resources must be provided by the host institution.
