"I’ve done several projects that looked at issues of appropriation and I’ve always thought that it was a legitimate use of material, though I can certainly understand that artists would be upset about that. So I’ve had to negotiate for the use of material. I’ve had controversies around my work, always, and I think it’s actually really important."
