Working with Nature

These images illustrate Norman’s fascination with the shapes and lines of nature. Throughout his career, he would often incorporate actual leaves, shells, rocks, earth and other materials into his work, often fixing the natural object in translucent plastic or epoxy for a kind of contemporary amber effect. Always a tactile artist, Norman’s works on paper, sketches and preparation models reveal his lifelong impulse toward the sculptural.
