Meet Serafima Sokolov who immigrated to the United States just prior to the fall of the former Soviet Union. She casts an evocative eye towards modern issues such as war, equal rights and theocracy. Her artwork has been shown at the University of North Florida as a guest artist for Peace Awareness Week. Sokolov discusses her paintings that respond to the BP oil spill.
