In a sense this is a fragile work. In its verbal silence, rigorous formalism and focus on the present, it ultimately must engage the memory of the viewer to endow it with meaning.

Dachau 1974 is a groundbreaking work in the history of video art and a powerful personal and artistic reflection on the Holocaust.
An internationally exhibited artist, Beryl Korot first became known for her
early pioneer work in video art, and for multiple channel work in
particular. More recently she has collaborated with the composer, Steve
Reich, on the video documentary operas, "The Cave" (1993) and "Three
Tales" (2002).
