American Black Bear (Ursus americanus)
Physical Description: Black bears are both black, brown, and though rare, white or "blue" grey in color despite their name. Colors vary by habitat and weather. A black bear's appearance can be noted by its straight profile and short claws.
Diet: Herbaceous vegetation, roots, buds, numerous kinds of fleshy fruits, nuts, insects, vertebrates from fish to mammals, and sometimes human foods
Migration: American black bears can migrate long distances (up to ~124 miles) and often do so in late summer and fall before hibernation.
