Wild Turkey Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris)

Physical Description: A large game bird with powerful legs, a long neck, dewlaps and a large, fan-shaped tail.

Diet: Insects like crickets and grasshoppers, small crabs, lizards, frogs, small snakes, seeds, fruit, tubers, acorns and leaves of plants

Migration: Turkeys are not long-distance migrants and only move across approximately 3-12 miles of land.
