Pitching and Pitchers

Pedro Martinez, Joe Torre, Roger Angell and Howard Bryant discuss the art of pitching

"I keep it simple. I know I have to train like I'm going nine, maybe a chance for a possible ten. I have to get you out somehow. I keep it old school. I have to trick you somehow to get you out. I want to actually represent a probably the biggest challenge you have out there by the time I have it. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, how hard I'm throwing, how many change ups I'm going to throw, but I keep it simple. I have to get you out and get my team on top by the ninth inning. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I know that if you give me the ball I'm going to try to find a way. And after that it's over with"
