Tom Verducci talks about how all players are tainted by the steroid era
"You look back now on an entire era and all the players that played there they're all tainted by our memories of or at least our knowledge now of what we know that happened in that time. And were they all dirty? Of course not. But looking back on it we think about it that way that you if you look in the record book and you look up someone's home run totals or strike out totals in the nineties you'll say well yeah, but that was in the steroid era. Times were a little bit different then. And that's a disconnect that baseball has never had before. We've always been able to connect records and generations of players and we can't do that anymore. This era stands on its own."
