E. Natatcha Estébanez

Writer, Producer, Director

E. Natatcha Estébanez served as the series producer, writer, and director of La Plaza, an Emmy Award-winning PBS series for and about Latinos. She also produced the PBS musical special En Clave!, hosted by Ruben Blades, and Special Orders, a segment of the Heritage series, focusing on three young Puerto Rican women working in garment factories in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Estébanez received an Emmy, a Gabriel Award, a Houston International Film & Video Festival Gold Award, and a Mezquite Award (San Antonio Film Festival) for her production and direction of Notes From the Mambo Inn: The Story of Mario Bauza. Three more Emmys were awarded for her work on Drop-outs: Four Stories, The Classic Pointe: Fernando Bujones, and The Flying Vasquez. Estébanez has served as panelist for the Independent Television Service, a juror for the National Latino Film and Video Festival, and a guest lecturer on various film topics.
