FOURTH OF JULY REFLECTIONS FROM ELLIOTT YAMIN
Q: What made you want to be a part of A Capitol Fourth?

I think at some point in our lives we've all seen it on TV and how huge of a deal it is. Just the fact that we're going to be doing it in our nation's Capital, makes it that much more special. And I'm a fireworks junkie myself and over the past few years I've been so busy that I haven't really been able to catch any and I haven't really been able to celebrate the Fourth of July so, it's a very honored, kind of historical event every year, so I'm just honored that they asked me to be apart of it and I can't wait. I love to perform. I love to entertain and that's what I've always lived to do so I'm looking forward it. There's going to be a lot of other great singers and to sing with the orchestra with all that brass up there is going to be amazing. I'm a big Tony Danza fan from his "Who's the Boss" days and Yolanda Adams has just got the silkiest, smoothest voice, beautiful gospel singer. So I'm gonna have fun, we're gonna have a blast.
Q: Do you have a 4th of July celebration tradition?

My brother's best friend, he lives right behind our Triple A baseball stadium, it's called The Diamond, it's where the Richmond Braves play and so kind of traditionally for the past at least five years, we've gone over to his house because he throws a big cookout. Actually everyone on that street throws a big cookout, so it's kind of like from party to party, next door to next door. Anyways, at The Diamond they always do a huge fireworks display after the baseball game, and each year it gets bigger, more people come and yeah I miss it. So it's really cool.
