The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Erich Kunzel, and the Choral Arts Society of Washington perform Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever".

Each year A Capitol Fourth celebrates the glorious music of John Philip Sousa – probably the most famous marching band conductor and composer in history – with a rousing rendition of some of his best-loved compositions, often accompanied by the brilliant fireworks display over the Washington Monument.
