I had a chat with an IBMer at an airport this summer and he basically said this. Most service contracts were getting outsourced and the level of support and quality were rapidly going down. They were still selling them like crazy, but sooner or later customers will notice. Too bad they can't get the R&D going again. One only has to look at the Google network to see how far behind they are.

I agree. I have a friend who is working in a project which is in China. The owner of this project selected some person to join this project, then send them to China. When those people arrived there, they not only don't know what they should do, but also don't know how to do it. More funny is the owner of project still thinks those people are right people for this project. Irresponsible owner send no-quality people to working in IBM customer, how could IBM make customer happy? How could IBM get more business?
