This RPC vulnerability has been known since last October or earlier.

By the time CERT was on it two weeks ago, this problem should have already been history�. But wasn't. Who gets credit for that? Why the IT department, of course. We must need more people working over there. Wrong!

Look at the trend in these stories on Microsoft certification. For recertification there will now be two exams instead of four, and exams will now be pass-fail. In some cases, recertification won't even be required ever. To me this means that Microsft is having a hard time even getting MCSEs to recertify so they are trying to make it as easy as possible to pass. Is that what we really want?
