|Oyster shells should be closed (if open, gentle tapping should them)
Remember: Fresh water kills oysters!
To store oysters:
Clean the shell;
Place oyster, cupped side down;
Keep moist with a clean damp towel on top.
Place in refrigerator, around 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit, or use a clean ice chest with Blue Ice or other type of gel pack. Regular ice may be used if the melted ice can drain off.
