The Corporate Support Performance Initiative (CSPI) Training
New Session Scheduled at PBS HQ in Arlington, VA!
CSPI is a three-part training program; In Program 1, participants learn how to articulate the PBS Value Proposition, and build a foundation of fundamental knowledge about the PBS product, market and media environment. Program 2 expands on the principles from Program 1 to build discrete selling skills, from the initial customer engagement to securing a commitment from the sponsor. Program 3 is the manager extension (separate registration and fee applies). To attend you must commit to both Program 1 and Program 2; a registration of $395/per person includes both programs and all training materials. Registration is now open for the next session which will be held at PBS HQ as follows: P1 – August 8-10; P2 – September 12-14; P3 – September 15. DevDay @ 2017 PBS Annual Meeting

DevDay (aka Development Day) is at the 2017 PBS Annual Meeting – Thursday, May 18!

The PBS development community is invited to gather at the 2017 Annual Meeting in San Diego for a new learning and networking experience! By attending the Annual Meeting, development professionals will access the full range of upcoming programming, general sessions, and educational strategies PBS offers and gain important skills in an expanded development session track. Then we’ll kick off our specific development gathering with a Development Late Night Happy Hour on Wednesday evening, followed by Thursday’s Development Day –an interactive peer-learning experience, sharing ideas and inspiration on new fundraising opportunities. We are so pleased to bring our development community together to apply everything seen and learned at the Annual Meeting and brainstorm new fundraising strategies.

2017 PBS Annual Meeting

The 2017 PBS Annual Meeting will take place May 15-17 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.

We are thrilled to host the PBS Annual Meeting in San Diego, our nation’s eighth-largest city and home to a vast array of arts, culture and culinary arts, including the famed San Diego Zoo – all in a pleasant climate and near miles of beautiful beaches. The PBS Annual Meeting is the premier gathering of public television colleagues and decision-makers representing PBS’ 158 member licensees. This national event brings together general managers, programmers, producers, development leaders, and promotion, communication, education, and digital professionals to spotlight PBS content while sharing new and innovative ideas to meet the changing funding and media environment.

The upcoming PBS Annual Meeting kicks off with a series of Concurrents on Monday, May 15 at 3 p.m. followed by two days of informative and collaborative sessions and events. Then on Thursday, May 18, join us for the all new Development Day for development professionals.

Early Bird registration deadline is Friday, April 14, 2017. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

We encourage you to register early in order to secure a discounted guest room rate at our conference hotel. The conference hotel will sell out, so we recommend booking prior to April so you do not have to stay at a different hotel nearby. In addition, we highly recommend that you register early to guarantee a full conference registration. In the past few years, due to overwhelming response, registration has been limited to session only (which does not include access to our sponsored meal events) as we approach the Early Bird registration deadline.

Advance registration closes on Friday, April 28, 2017. After this date, registration must be made on site at the registration desk and include a processing fee

The PBS development community is invited to gather at the Annual Meeting in San Diego for a new learning and networking experience! By first attending the Annual Meeting, development professionals will access the full range of upcoming programming, general sessions, and educational strategies PBS offers and gain important skills at the development breakout sessions.

After the Annual Meeting wraps, we’ll kick off our development-specific gathering on Wednesday evening with a Development Late Night Networking Event. The networking and social event for development professionals, this high energy gathering is a place to reconnect with colleagues from across the system.

Then, at Thursday’s DevDay, we’ll present a series of interactive, hands-on training workshops focused on the most relevant fundraising and development activities. These workshops will center around four tracks: Corporate Support, Digital, Philanthropy, and Sustainers. During these workshops, participants will step out of the “conference bubble,” apply what they’ve seen and heard earlier that week at the Annual Meeting, and create new fundraising strategies and plans to use back at their stations. We’ll also recognize the 2017 Development Award winners at DevDay!

With the many technological advancements happening in the media industry, public media professionals have a crucial need to learn, network, and share ideas. To that end, we’re delighted to kick-off planning for the 2017 PBS Technology Conference (aka TechCon) and need your input and assistance.

As in years past, we hope to develop another top-notch agenda designed to educate and inform anyone in public media using technology to serve an audience. To help guide your thinking, the TechCon audience is made up of professionals from the following areas of public broadcasting: Broadcast, Digital, I.T., and Traffic. TechCon attendees tell us they are eager to learn in sessions and workshops that are:
• Educational;
• Hands-on; and
• Technical or in-depth.
