Tuthmosis III

A superb portrait statue of Tuthmosis III, on display at the Luxor Museum of Ancient Egyptian Art. It belongs to a series of figures that were probably created for the festival temple of Tuthmosis III. They are remarkable for their extremely high quality and are characterized by the symmetry of their proportions and outstanding surface treatment.
