Tyrosine is a pre-cursor...
Many neurotransmitters like dopamine, norepinepherine and epinepherine are synthesized from a tyrosine-based compound. Logically, increasing the level of this precursor may elevate levels for use in the brain and assist in neural stimulation, likely inciting creativity. Perhaps other pre-cursors would also be useful--tryptophan compound as a pre-cursor to serotonin may do similar things. With increased levels of this neurotransmitter (which is purposely increased SSRI's used for depression), you would likely see heightened mood and emotional changes. It is of great importance to know, however, that taking any supplement can be dangerous, as scientists do not fully know the wide-spread impacts of increasing neurotransmitter levels. Additionally, since many mood-altering drugs (even legal ones) have serious withdrawal effects, be very careful if you try change the levels of your brain chemicals. It would probably be wise to discuss the practice with a doctor.
