Ask Meteorologist - and Cyberchase Special Guest - Janice Huff About the Weather
New Yorkers know Janice Huff, NBC4's metereologist, as a trusted source for reliable weather information. Now a national audience will have the chance to meet Huff, albeit in a slightly altered form: She'll soon appear as the voice of animated character Stormy Gale, and as a live version of herself, on PBS KIDS' popular Cyberchase program.
Huff's appearance on the show is part of its new Weather Watchers initiative. Weather Watchers will teach kids how weather impacts the environment while demonstrating how they can use math to explore those impacts.
Huff says that she uses math every day, and that once kids watch Stormy Gale on Cyberchase, they'll "never look at the weather report the same way again - and they may even want to test out those forecasts for themselves!"
Without further ado - meet Stormy Gale:
Huff will appear on Cyberchase beginning April 20th (check local listings). But first, she's on hand to answer your questions about meteorology, using the weather to teach kids math, and what it's like to join a children's show. Leave your questions below and I'll choose five for her to answer.

Cool idea
I like the way they plan on gearing this towards a younger crowd. They should start doing this with politics so kids can get a grasp on that in a friendly way as well. Anything so kids don't think "adult" topics are boring. Just my two cents.

How cool to give kids an inside look at weather forecasting by using a real meteorologist. I saw the For Real clip of Janice inside the NBC studios on the Cyberchase website. My daughter will love this!
Janice, what was it like to play "yourself" inside your own studios? My daughter will want to know if you had fun working with Harry.
Also, though my daughter is a huge fan of Cyberchase, sometimes she still needs convincing that math is worthwhile and fun. How did you make math fun when you were younger?
