Hello Josh! Quick question...out of all the concerts you performed at, which one was your best one? The one where you felt you did 110% great?

As a musician and parent, I'm always trying to introduce different types of musical styles to my son while he's still very young in order to expand his understanding of music in general. What kind of music do you remember being played for you as a child and how or what influenced you to become the musician you are today and the genre you are in, especially as you aim to cross different genres?

Josh, when you sing I often feel the loving energy vibrations in my heart chakra...I am wondering if you, yourself, feel the vibrations that you send out to the universe... your personality seems to change the moment you finish a song. It's like different Josh Grobans,the body,mind and soul connection!

any small venues like this one jn your future/?

What do you do when your about to start a show and you're not feeling 100%? If you're either tired, sick, sad, distracted, or otherwise not 100%, what do you do to get in the zone to go out and perform?

I often wonder what it must be like to be recognized around the world for a special talent...in your case, your voice. Like most people,I imagine you grew up in a regular family, went to school, had homework, etc. and then one day, you're out there for the world to see! How does one prepare themselves for this kind of attention and recognition? I've been a fan of your for years, and it's amazing to me how grounded you remain. Please tell me how you do it?

You have been trained vocally. Did you ever receive any training/coaching on how to handle interviews, press, public relations because right from the beginning you were so comfortable at it, it was truly amazing. I am a singer and I also suffer from seasonal allergies. During allergy season I sometimes find it very difficult to keep my voice in top shape. Antihistamines are so drying! Do you have any problems with allergies, and if so, what do you do to combat them and keep your voice (the best I've ever heard) in good shape?

As a person who is not very good in large groups or crowds myself I was wondering if you get really nervouse before a performance and if have any sort or rituals, meditation or any quirky thing that you do before you go on stage to calm any nerves you may feel and if you can share your secret with us shy ones???

What type of humor do you tend to laugh at most? Slapstick, stand-up, spoof, off-colored, dry, etc. I loved the Jimmy Kimmel cameo. Good job!

Above all, I love the songs you write yourself/collaborate on best! Your lyrics are introspective and insightful and the melodies are so beautiful and original. As a music major in college, it's especially interesting to me how you compose the music to your songs. Where do the ideas come from? And where or how did you learn to play piano? Music has always been my first love, even at a young age. At 29, I am still very passionate about it. I sleep, breath, live, and sing music.

There are songs that connect with me so strongly that it's hard to describe how it makes me feel. The lyrics become the message I want to get across. I feel it's rare that music pulls at a person in such a way. I've heard you say the same thing :)and with that being said, What songs; that you have sung, affect you this way?

Hi there! I'm Anna and I'm an aspiring singer. This summer I'm going to be in Advanced Vocal at Interlochen Arts Camp and I'm very excited. But I was wondering about how you go about getting your name out to the public. I would really like to make singing my career in the future, but I really don't know where to start. I was wondering how you were discovered and if you have any advice on becoming such a renowned singer such as yourself. First off, don't get me wrong, you sing wonderfully no matter what language it's in. I do love it when you sing in Spanish and Italian. However, I was wondering why you don't sing more in French? You're very good at it, and I love the language. "L'Hymne De L'Amour" is one of my favorites, and I loved "Petit Papa Noel". Also La Boheme with Charles Aznavour is great, as well. Is it a harder language for you to sing? I know it's hard to learn, and I'm not trying to pressure you into doing something you don't want to. I just thought I'd try to petition to get you to sing more in French on upcoming albums. :)

Josh,

Trying to write songs can be difficult. I find that when I try to write songs I end up using every cliche in the book. What do you do if and/or when you have problems writing your songs? Do you ever get help from a lyricist?

Josh-
I have heard mixed reports about whether or not you can actually read music. When you are learning a piece, especially on the piano, do you do it by ear or by studying the actual music?

In the past couple of years, you appeared in concert productions of Chess in NYC & London. (Saw the London concert - it was amazing!) Is there any more musical theatre in your future?

Hi Josh, you have spent a good deal of time promoting issues like the arts, as well as supporting politicians you feel strongly about. I applaud how you have gone about it without "ramming" an agenda down your fans throats will still keeping true to yourself.

My question is, what other causes would you like to help out with through performances or your charity?

Hey Josh! I was just wondering: When (if) you have children, will you sing to them and will you encourage any musical talent that they may have? i.e. piano or voice lessons? Or will you just let them decide when they're older? I thought "Lullabye" is absolutely beautiful and have played it for my baby girl since the day she was born. I really like your comment about "seeing the whites " of your audiences eyes as you compared it to your performance at Madison Square Garden. I was curious which venue do you prefer. I have yet to see one of your concerts...but to offer my opinion I would rather see you at a smaller venue I think it is more intimate and better suited to hear your beautiful voice and music. I saw you on the street a few days ago and you looked right into my eyes as we passed. It would be difficult to explain the feeling I had, looking into your eyes for that brief moment, but I think you would know if I said, "my heart was home again".
I have been dreaming about you for 2 years, just simple things, like hanging out together, laughing, talking, nothing more. When I wake up I miss being with you.
Our time together is so intoxicating... that is, until I remember that I was asleep the whole time. I wonder if you remember any of those times we spent together in my dreams, and if they show up in yours, and would you know me by my smile or by my laugh?

My question is this; how can I get you out of my head? I miss you terribly when I am awake, and all I can think about is going to sleep, so I can sit by you, be near you, and laugh with you again. But most of all, to see that familiar look in your eyes when ours meet.

Hi Josh. Every year you write more songs. Do you write the lyrics first, do you write them after you have found or written the melody, or is it a growing proces of lyrics and melody together?
I'm also wondering if you are always aware during an interview that your family can see or read the result of it.

First, let me say, I was lucky enough to get to meet you during the Awake tour, and it was an experience I will never forget...mainly because I made a fool of myself. :)

First of all, thank you for sharing your life with your fans and the world. We appreciate every second of it. Your performance at the Bridge School was beyond incredible. Your rendition of "Changing Colors" was the best performance I've ever witnessed. Your performance of "Harvest Moon" was also beyond incredible. If someone ever told me someone could improve on "Harvest Moon" I literally wouldn't have believed it. It's really has to be seen to be believed. As you can tell, I love your jazz piano abilities (in addition to all of your other abilities). Are you planning on recording any jazz piano pieces in the future? (pretty please!)

As I am watching your PBS NYC special here in my home in the Smokies of NC I wonder if you have ever been told that your music has the most beautiful healing properties? As a nurse who works primarily with oncology patients I have on numerous occasions had a patient listen to one of your CD's- doesn't even matter which one- even the Christmas album! I say this with all sincerity... whether I have had an absolutely wonderful day and am driving home with the top down on my car with my Josh Groban music booming, or whether I may have lost a patient that day and need the comfort your voice gives, or even if I have a patient/family member dealing with the knowledge that their time has come- regardless of the situation, your music and the heartfelt joy it brings truly is healing to the heart and soul. Please don’t get upset - Josh. But I have a serious problem. I simply can’t get you and your music out of my life – and it makes my life very difficult – but at the same time so WONDERFUL. I’ve adored your voice and music since the first time I ever heard you about 9-10 years ago – and I’ve tried so hard to let go of you – but I can’t. I’ve put your cd’s, videos, lyrics and photos into a drawer – just to give me some peace. After a while I open up the drawer again – and after just one song – I’m lost again. I take the lyrics from the drawer and sing to your songs again – and again – bringing back my greatest desire to meet you some time and sing with you - although I know too well that it’s a dream not likely to come true – especially as I’m living far away from you - in Denmark. However, I’ve always worked hard to reach my goals – and where there’s a will, there’s a way. So maybe – one day. So – Josh – as you being a highly sensitive and passionate person too – what do you do or would you do in a situation like this?? I’m sure you must have been in similar situations. Please just don’t answer that I should throw away the key to my drawer.

I know you've mentioned in the past that you fought for Machine to be included on Awake or that the song Awake should have been on the CD.
