With Love From @me to @you

Itâ€â„¢s Valentineâ€â„¢s Day, the perfect opportunity to share your love, for friends, romantic interests, political candidates, pets, you name it. Luckily, the world of social media has some creative ways of helping out â€â€œ itâ€â„¢s not just about e-cards anymore.

There are lots of ways to show you care online that go beyond ordering those embarrassing roses sent to her office.

On Twitter you can post a heart to your â€ËœTweetheartâ€â„¢ just by using the <3 emoticon, and a host of Facebook applications let you send the love and tell your network about it. Itâ€â„¢s also the perfect time change your â€Ëœrelationship statusâ€â„¢ in your profile.

John Lundberg at The Huffington Post shares his favorite Valentineâ€â„¢s Day poetry, and you can submit your best love poem here.

Thinking of making oysters for dinner? Debunk or buy into the myth of aphrodisiacs.

If all the lovey dovey stuff is too much, the folks at Anti-VDay agree that this holiday was just made up for card retailers and chocolate companies. Share the hate at the Anti-VDay forums. Thereâ€â„¢s even a Flickr pool for the broken-hearted.

But not everyone has lost hope! If you want to meet that not-so-special someone, you can try a new site, Crazy Blind Date â€â€œ it sets you up for a coffee with a total stranger â€â€œ as soon as tonight. What have you got to lose?

Love it or hate it, either way you can even do some good for the world on Valentineâ€â„¢s Day. Show your support for ending violence against women. The V-Day movement started by Eve Enslerâ€â„¢s Vagina Monologues celebrates 10 years in 2008.

And if you must send roses, make sure they are fair trade ones, because as Frontline/World discovers, allâ€â„¢s not fair in, well, you know.
