New Series "Time Team America" Premieres Online
"Time Team America," a new series that premiered on PBS.org's Video Portal last week, appeals to the kid in me: there's digging in dirt, bulldozers and finding hidden treasures. But the series also knows how to connect with my adult self, with a web-based first episode and blog that invite me to explore the series on my own time. Following this online debut, Time Team America will premiere on TV on July 8 (check local listings).
The series, which originated in Britain, features a team of top archaeologists who travel across the United States to uncover (literally) mysteries from America's past. In each episode, the team has just three days to uncover the buried secrets of their assigned dig, from the lost colony at Roanake to the first town founded by freed slaves. Check out the first episode, and
meet host (and artist) Colin Campbell, who explains why an artist is an integral part of the digging team.

Artist Included
I'm thrilled the first episode includes an artist in the digg. Artists should be included in more teams on an advisory level at a minimum. It would certainly change the tone of our politics. Thanks!
