The Roundup: The Race is Down to Two

Hillary Clinton is no longer running for president, but she's still a big part of the race if the comments you're leaving on PBS Web sites are any indication.

The New York senator's endorsement of Barack Obama last weekend remains a hot topic at "The NewsHour" blog.

One user, crat3, sees something sinister in Obama's success: "Sen. Clinton is ending her presidential bid because the nomination was rigged against her by de facto Obama surrogate HOUSE SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI."

"You are right about Pelosi. I wrote her off a long time ago," Debra responds. "Hillary should have fought till the convention but because she is a Presidents wife she is held to a higher standard then the others."

Could Obama heal his fractured party by picking Clinton as his running mate, as many suggest?

"Tavis Smiley" blogger Rose Capozzi looks at the Democratic veepstakes and concludes that "[i]t seems like the political establishment desires an Obama/Clinton ticket more than people who have the power to elect them."

What's that? The establishment driving the political debate in America? Surely you jest!

Over on "Washington Week's" discussion page, some users think John McCain's recent comparison of Obama to Jimmy Carter is a little, uh, dated.

Here's how yeoman puts it: "Thinks the voter under 40, upon hearing McCain: 'Hey you old fossil, who … is Carter? Wasn't he the singer who sang with that other antique, Johnny Cash? Think I saw that … in some flick about ancient times.'"

But enough politics. What about the issues?

That's what L.H. Flaten, a visitor to the site for PBS’s "Charlie Rose," wants to know.

Flaten writes, "Our world is going to hell, gas is $4 plus, food prices are thru the roof, my friend's Blue Shield is $3500 per month. … Mr. Rose wake up !!! If you need some reality email me I can let you move into my house for a month and show you what it is like to be a typical working American."

What are your thoughts on the coverage of the election? Did Clinton get a bum rap as some suggest? Are the issues being shortchanged by too much focus on politics? Should Charlie Rose move into L.H. Flaten's house?
