South by Southwest Redux

Join in the fun at South by Southwest (SXSW) with PBS.  No, this isn't an old post - I'm just inviting you to glimpse at last week's festivities in Austin, Texas, thanks to some video we shot.

The Engage team was out in full force at SXSW Interactive, where we threw a few parties, hosted some dazzling live music events and chatted with some of the internet's most creative and innovative personalities.  Watch the highlights below.

Austin native and musical mainstay Alejandro Escovedo finishes his set with a blazing guitar battle.

Paul Dateh fluidly combines classical violin with jazzy beats.  This short clip reminds me of river boats if they were in New York City.

Blip.tv founder Jared Klett talks with Engage Advisory Board member Zadi Diaz (of EPIC FU fame) about how Blip uses social media to engage individual users on a personal level, while making high quality content available to everyone.

And finally, see what Ill Doctrine's Jay Smooth has to say about the convergence of traditional and online media (Jay's a radio host turned video blogger in New York), and putting more hip hop on PBS.

These clips are just a small sample from the ‘PBS at SXSW' video vault.  We're in the process of editing together interviews with some of the web's most creative thinkers about the future of PBS.  For the complete playlist of our interviews from Austin, visit our YouTube page.
