The Bill Moyers 2008 Election map allows viewers to input their location, view the locations of other BMJ fans, and add a message about their thoughts on issues surrounding the presidential election. The interactive map tool lets participants tag their location and leave a text or YouTube message. The map aims to highlight big ideas from a local's perspective. The posts are tagged by category: economy, justice, foreign affairs, media & politics, energy & environment, government, social issues and the American dream.
Even thou we have a Black President; that doesn't mean that issues of race is over. Many people of color are still disadvantaged because of discrimination of the past. You have many African Americans who started with nothing and made it to something, but they didn't do it alone. Weather they had a realitive or friend that helped them; they didn't do it alone. Same for those that failed. Black people need all the help they can get because for every Obama there is one million Black men and women that failed. If I'm on the front line of a war and I'm one of 10,000 that survived that doesn't mean that the others were bad soldiers. It means that I was just a little better and lucky. If America can make it so foerigners don't have to pay taxes and can go to school for free then they can do something for decendants of slaves.
As the comment from February 27th illustrates, literacy is the primary factor in the lack of success among blacks. As an African-American, I am continually embarassed by those who want success without having put in the minimal work necessary to speak clearly. We've been here almost 400 years now. You'd think we'd learn to speak the language.
