ITVS Filmocracy
Filmocracy is an online video mash-up contest inviting users to "mix it up and make a statement" using media as their message. Developed in the American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab, the contest invites users to create short films using clips from Independent Lens films, footage from Getty Images or their own uploaded material. Using the Eyespot online editing tool, contestants assemble their films and post them to the Filmocracy website. Filmmakers and users judge the finished films. KING CORN, an indie feature documentary about two friends, one acre of corn and the subsidized crop that drives our fast-food nation, provided the backdrop for the first competition.
ITVS - Engaging communities through film. We provide the clips. You provide the point of view. Express yourself through the powerful medium of film.
