Some have suggested that the popularity of online networks is so vast and their influence so strong that they are slowly corroding the fabric of our social lives. But the opposite is often the case. For this issue of Web Stories, we went out to explore how four social networks in Los Angeles came to life and how the internet became a tool for them to not only meet and share online, but also to create strong and lasting offline communities.
