PBS's long-running documentary series P.O.V. featured "Sierra Leone's Refugee All-Stars," a powerful film following refugees of Sierra Leone's brutal civil war as they banded together to create music in the midst of chaos. In a new approach, P.O.V. partnered with the popular editing website eyespot.com so viewers can remix video and audio clips from the documentary and even upload their own material to create new, "alternate" scenes. P.O.V. has sponsored a contest for the best remix, or "mash-up," as a chance for would-be deejays, editors and filmmakers to strut their stuff. Video entries are available on the Web; winning contestants earn a presence on the documentary's Web site.
