PBS Innovation Showcase

Author, Author!, at weta.org/authorauthor, is an online project of WETA Washington, DC, the flagship public broadcasting station in the nation's capital. Hosted by Bethanne Patrick, journalist and book reviewer, the project is a literary video blog with a mixture of book reviews, book give-aways, a blog by Patrick that offers commentary on the book world and publishing industry, and bi-weekly online video interviews by Patrick with a wide array of authors.

Author, Author! provides insight into the writing and publishing process to book lovers around the country, covering many genres of works. Interviewees, from an ever-growing library, include Tracy Chevalier, author of Burning Bright; Alexander McCall Smith, author of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series; Richard Russo, author of Bridge of Sighs; Tom Perrotta, author of The Abstinence Teacher and Geoffrey C. Ward, author of The War with Ken Burns. Author, Author! also hosts interviews with local bookstore owners and local literary experts, including Michael Dirda, book critic for The Washington Post.
