In three weeks, we collected nearly 1,000 insightful comments from citizens across the country in response to our questions around the information needs of your community.
PBS Engage and the Knight Commission on the Information Needs of Communities in a Democracy appreciate your feedback, and the Commission is reviewing all public input—from this site and others—in order to help inform a report to be released later this year.
For more information on the Knight Commission, please visit knightcomm.org.
If you have questions about the Commission's work and why it chose this issue, ask Marissa Mayer, vice president of search products and user experience and a Commission co-chair.
The Knight Commission held seven public meetings in communities across the nation and heard from more than 100 people, including community organizers, educators, entrepreneurs, public officials, and more. Listen to their views.

The Knight Commission on the Information Needs of Communities in a Democracy and PBS Engage teamed up to explore the issues around each citizen’s information needs, and asked for public feedback between April 21 and May 8. The Commission released a draft introduction to the report for public review and also posed five questions for input.
The Commission will release a report with its findings and recommendations later this year.
