Since having children, Ian’s work has taken a back seat as he is no longer able to travel as much as he used to. His wife is a busy doctor in exotic diseases, so child care to his 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter, household duties and baking has become his domain.
Ian started baking 10 years ago and his main love and strength is bread; he enjoys concocting new flavours, much to his children’s disgust, but always makes sure there is a fresh loaf for the family lunches. His eccentricities in life transfer to his baking; he has even made an ostrich scotch egg which fed 9 people. Ian says his downfall is delicate French patisseries.
