I persevered and added the oil, The brand new bag of bread flour would not absorb 4T. of oil. I persevered and added the olives to the gloppy mess, they would not incorporate into the 'dough'. How did I do this totally wrong? The sponge did not rise enough. I think I over-beat the eggs because it turned out pretty rubbery. On top of that, the frosting was grainy and runny... SOS!
I had a such a hard time with how they handled that, and nearly stopped watching the show afterward. They had so many other options, and could have given Ian a do-over or brought him in the next week when one of the contestants (I think the same one who removed his Baked Alaska) was sick and couldn't come back. I'm still watching because in general

Mine is in the oven and it was for my birthday. I agree with everything said above. The filling isn’t enough for half the shells and the instructions for the sage — do you mean 3 sprigs or 3 leaves?? And do you put additional cheese on top? What about the nutmeg? Also 20 minutes is not nearly enough cooking time for the eggs. Someone must have omitted baking

May not be a "southern thing" but it's more common in the south than anywhere else. I can't find ANYONE who makes it in Wyoming since I moved here from the south.
