Skeleton Vegetable Tray

With Halloween parties quickly approaching parents are searching for creative and clever ideas with foods, games, costumes, and decorations. You’ve come to the right place! From great craft ideas (found here) to ‘spooktacular’ foods, at PBS Parents we have you covered!

Today I have a fun way to serve a healthy assortment of vegetables in the spirit of Halloween.   Arranged as a skeleton, this vegetable tray is a great way for kids (and grownups) to have a healthy food option during parties that are traditionally all treats. Vegetables can be cut and stored in containers, which makes restocking them on the serving tray easier. This vegetable tray is a clever way to plate vegetables and can be easily arranged by kids with a little bit of adult guidance. Leftovers can be saved and chopped later for soup or salad on another day.

Celery, carrots, snap peas, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and other easily handled finger sized vegetables work best. Just keep in mind the different colors, textures, and shapes of each vegetable that your using to make your skeleton vegetable tray stand out. Serve them with your favorite ranch dressing or dip.

Below you’ll also find a round-up of our favorite treats from the PBS Parents archives. We hope you’ll find just what you need to be inspired for your upcoming Halloween party.
