Irish Soda Bread with Caraway Seeds
Chris Fennimore shares his own recipe for Irish Soda Bread with QED Cooks.
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 cups buttermilk
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Mix all ingredients reserving some flour for kneading.
- Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead about 5 minutes. Form into round loaf and cut deep cross into the top with a sharp knife.
- Dust cookie sheet with flour and place loaf in the center.
- Bake about 45 minutes.
