Emmy Award-winning Family Ingredients is a half-hour series of six programs that will be broadcast on national public television and available to 217 million people who watch PBS annually.

The 50th state is not just a destination, but also a gathering place for people of many ethnicities. To appreciate the many cultures that have shaped Hawai‘i, we invite the audience to discover the roots of the foods that are part of our shared community. Each episode features a guest who introduces their family and a favorite family recipe. We explore the history of the recipe, and as the recipe’s story unfolds, we are taken on a journey that bridges communi-ties through cultural experiences.
