Each episode of The Victory Garden is hosted by Durie, and includes segments with Chef Nischan and beloved gardening correspondentPaul Epsom with six themes anchoring the new season—old, new, light, dark, soft, and edible. Season highlights include a community planting of traditional Victory Gardens at San Francisco City Hall where Durie will speak with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and renowned chef Alice Waters about the importance of connecting the planet to the plate. Viewers will also see how a moss garden makes for the ultimate shade groundcover, explore how new plants can best be incorporated into already thriving gardens, and experience the best of herb gardening.
In his award-winning "Homegrown" segments, Chef Nischan continues to take viewers from the garden to the table and offers techniques and suggestions on how to make the most of their garden space and harvest. This season finds Chef Nischan visiting with several of New England's finest farmers and chefs.
