  • Re: Blueberry Bread Makes Mother’s Day Brunch Vibrant
I made it the other day and got tons of compliments on it!! absolutely delish!! i had no white sugar so I used sugar cane instead, and quite a few blueberries got crushed so the cake was kinda purple inside. Other than that it was GREAT! thanks a lot! :)) […]

  • Re: Light, Crispy Rusk Is the Perfect Appetizer
Most "Expiration" dates are actually "Best Before" dates. This means that the product (such as bread) is best consumed in it's current state (soft and fluffy) before the date. Perhaps if you explain the difference it will help? […]

  • Re: Light, Crispy Rusk Is the Perfect Appetizer
That is hilarious. My mom made this as treats for us in the 1950's, and I made this for my children as well. We generally topped ours with cinnamon sugar, but the adults liked spicier versions. I can't believe it's now a culture craze. All the best to you Marc!d […]

  • Re: Apricot Crostata Recipe | Fresh Tastes Blog | PBS Food
It may not contribute much to the 'healthy' side of things, but a few smears of marscapone mixed with a bit of vannilla extract on the crust before putting down the fruit is deelicious! […]

  • Re: Uncover The History of Pasta
Maruja, thank you for your feedback, however I have to disagree with you on one point. There is nothing in this post to contradict the statement that pasta is "likely the ancestor of ancient Asian noodles"-- the post provides an overview of how pasta likely traveled from Asia to Europe, perhaps via nomadic Arab tribes. I never claimed that the reve […]

  • Re: Uncover The History of Pasta
I was excited to find this source on the web, hoping it would serve all the gastronomic information a foodie craves. I was saddened to find that it needs such editorial attention. A sentence claims that pasta is likely the "ancestor of ancient Asian noodles," the reverse is actually true, as the author acknowledges in the following paragraphs. Late […]

  • Re: Light, Crispy Rusk Is the Perfect Appetizer
Waste not and so simple to make, it's my kind of treats! But how do I convince my stubborn dad who checks the expiration date on everything, that stale bread and "expired chiffon cake/croissants" recreated in this fashion is perfectly safe to eat? […]
