Dear Sir

As Mr. Corne was ignorant of the regulations respectiong Flags, when he came out, he may be permitted to return with the other Prisoners

You will please therefore to send them with a Serjeant and the inclosed Letter to Colonel Canfield who commands at Stamford

The Sarjeant may proceed as far as Bedford where Colo. Sheldon lays with his Legion. By a line to him, he will send Mr. Corne and the prisoners with him to Stamford and save the Sarjeant so much distance Major General Knox
