How Do You Imagine God?
God in America and USA WEEKEND Magazine are partnering to explore Americans' images of God.

How do you imagine God? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I imagine God as an old man with a white beard and long hair. He loves us and is very forgiving; even when we fall very far away he always welcomes us back with open arms.

My Beliefs

I believe ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I believe in god the father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, in Jesus Christ his son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born to the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius pilot, was crucified died and was buried he died and on the 3rd day he rose again, he assented into heaven and sits at the right hand of god the father from these he shall come to judge the living in the dead, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy church, communion and saints and the life everlasting amen
My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Recieving communion for the the first time. I felt so close to God at that point in time.
My greatest moment of doubt was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator When all that could go bad was going bad for me. It makes you feel almost like god is against you but you have to realize he pus struggles in your life to bring you closer.
My spiritual life means... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator It means a lot to me. Being close to god makes me feel at peace in life with all. Knowing he is there with me through it all calms me.
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I'm catholic so a lot of people think we worship saints. When we actually see them just as messengers to god, we can pray to them and they deliver the prayers to god.
My spiritual role model is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I actually look at a lot of professional baseball players. The one that mainly comes to mind though isnAdam Wainwright. He does so many things to show his faith and he is never ashamed of it either,
The tenet/practice/teaching I appreciate most about my faith is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator How god is always there for us. Even when we screw up the worst we can he always welcomes us back right away. He loves us.

My Faith History

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator On Sundays I attend church. But during the week I just try to be a good person and also say morning prayers as well as night prayers.

How easy or difficult is it to live your faith? Why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator It is pretty easy at this point. Mainly because I have so many people around me that make me comfortable in my faith,
In my house, the thing that most represents my faith is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Family getting along and loving I would say. Cause much like our faith we always welcome eachother back and love no matter what?

Religion & the Public Square

What should be the role of religion in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator It should be the main part I think. The world would be better if it was. People would make better decisions and would get along better
Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes, and people should have the choice to go or not. Religion is a powerful and great thing and it makes kids better people.
Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No, the bible is historical but it isn't really literature for a lit class. People shouldn't read it to read it, it is a teaching thing,
Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Es, because it shows the works of our faith to help people understand it better,
Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes, because I am proud of my faith and I want people to know about it.
Do you feel that you have a duty, because of your faith, to put your beliefs into action? What are some of those actions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No
Are religious beliefs compromised by engaging in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No
Has 9/11 had any impact on your thoughts about religion? Are you more/less interested in learning about other religions? Do you feel more/less comfortable expressing your religious beliefs? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Love learning about other religions. It helps me understand what I could say to those people to draw then to my religion.
