We should educate people that 'Witch' is not evil but ancient and positive. The first time I called myself a 'Witch' was the most magical moment of my life. ~Margot Adler

How Do You Imagine God?
God in America and USA WEEKEND Magazine are partnering to explore Americans' images of God.

How do you imagine God? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I imagine the Goddess to be like me because she is me and i am her. Experiencing the Goddess presence is like looking in a mirror. She is something you feel within your soul, not someplace you seek outward. Look Within, Trust Within and you will find her. )O(

My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator when i realized i could choose my own path in life and not be a sheep just cause i was raised as one. The Goddess chose me and I her and it has been nothing but pure joy with a little bumps along the way.
My greatest moment of doubt was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator when i was about 22 years old and realized that being Catholic felt wrong to me as an individual because of what and who i am and also what i believe to be true. Catholics say that being gay is a sin and unholy; & since i am bisexual and had my baby out of wedlock; i am deemed to go to hell. At the moment i realized that i was going to be cast out of heaven because i was being unholy is the day i looked into other ways of life/faiths that would accept me for me and i did. I also don't believe Jesus died for my sins; you know why- cause i haven't commited any and that is when i doubted my entire way of thinking things about the bible growing up; i took matters into my own life and stopped being a Christian.
My spiritual life means... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Everything to me… I wake up and try to do good in everything I do. It is how I carry myself in everyday life that resembles my spiritual life. If I always look and trust within myself & stay true to myself, I will be blessed. I value my spirituality as my own inner dialogue with the Goddess, because I am her and she is me. My spirituality is sacred to me and to me alone because it is a special bond between me and my Goddess which also means me and myself since I am one with her. )O(
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator that many people think that witches are evil and that we worship the devil. We don't even believe in the devil; so how can we worship him.

My Faith History

As a child I believed ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator that if there was a father God why wasn't there a mother god as well and i believed that earth was a living being.
My spiritual journey has been ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator a little difficult somewhat cause with the religion i was rasied in at 1st i felt guilty leaving my old ways of thinking behind me and i felt that maybe i was going to be punished for leaving that religion and that God was going to spite me but as i read, read and read some more i realized that Christ was not going to be mad at me for leaving him; that he is a loving spiritual healer and just cause i chose NOT to have him as my Savior and that i will not be damned as i was raised to believe than thats when i knew that being a Pagan was the right thing for me and i could feel good about it.

Are your beliefs or practices different from your parents? If so, how and why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes they are different. Everyone in my extended family is Catholic; i was raised Catholic as a little girl and into some of my adulthood but as i woke up; i realized that being a Catholic wasn't for me. I don't believe that going to church makes you a christian. You are a christian because you love Christ as a man not the way the church SAYS you have to see him. Being a Catholic to me was being a hipocrit cause everything that is taught is not what i believe so i needed to find something else to make me happy.
If you have children, did becoming a parent change your relationship to faith? If so, how? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes; it has! My son went through all his sacremants in the Catholic Faith cause it was the "right" thing to do but when he became a teenager and saw that he can make his own choices; he has now become a Pagan cause he can; makes me proud that he has that option.

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I practice my faith everyday; to me my faith is a way of life practiced everyday all the time. I don't need to dedicate one day of the week to pay respects to my Deity. I talk and walk with her daily. I can practice it in my home or out in nature; it is wherever i choose.. cause basically she is all around us and not in some building i am told to go to on Sunday just to be able to talk to her.

Does your family practice more than one religion or faith? If so, how do you blend the traditions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator At one time I was the only in my house that was Pagan but once my husband & son saw the way Paganism is on values & morals. They changed as well.
How easy or difficult is it to live your faith? Why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator It is easy & difficult at the same time. As long as i stay true to myself i am doing ok; when i doubt myself than i am not living up to my standards in that regards and when i say it is difficult it is because society hasn't really grasped Goddess Worship as a valid religion/way of life so they see it as strange and not acceptable and then since they aren't informed they deem it evil. People fear what they don't understand!

Religion & the Public Square

What should be the role of religion in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator None; cause everyone is gonna feel that theirs is better than others.
Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I don't believe so; this is the parents job. And cause God/dess is too big to fit into one religion. Every child's religion is valid and there would be too much to teach respecting all. Someone is bound to feel left out, so no it should not be taught in schools.
Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Again too many contradictions are to be made about others books of faiths. Some faiths don't have books so what about them. No- i don't believe it should be taught in schools.
Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes i believe so because it gives others a way in to learn about religions/faiths that they have never heard of before. It is a wonderful opertunity to talk amongst strangers the similarities as well as the differences about our different ways of life by coming together as ONE! I participate in interfaith dinners in Houston, Texas about once every 6 months or so and they are wonderful. http://www.imgh.org/
Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes; i feel comfortable discussing my faith because i feel other people are still in the dark about my way of life and in order for them to overcome thier fear of Witches then i feel i need to talk to them about who i am and that we are not evil as they believe us to be by what they have learned growing up and the stereo types they give us.
Do you feel that you have a duty, because of your faith, to put your beliefs into action? What are some of those actions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator It isn't really MY duty but for others to see that we are like them and not evil and scary i feel i need to show how real Witches in society can contribute to helping other by always loving others unconditionally, volunteering, and just showing others that we are normal.
Are religious beliefs compromised by engaging in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I believe so yes; why does your religion have anything to do w/ who you are as a politician? So they feel that they won't get enough votes if they don't practice one of the main religions in today's world. No; you are a good politician regardless of your religious beliefs...
Has 9/11 had any impact on your thoughts about religion? Are you more/less interested in learning about other religions? Do you feel more/less comfortable expressing your religious beliefs? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Has 9/11 had an impact on my religion. Nope! And you know why cause 9/11 had nothing to do with religion. I am always interested in learning about others religions; if i don't how can i grow & learn. I feel more comfortable expressing my religion now cause i know where i stand and that is ok with me.
