- I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it, I see everything else. C. S. Lewis

How Do You Imagine God?
God in America and USA WEEKEND Magazine are partnering to explore Americans' images of God.

How do you imagine God? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Unimaginable!

My Beliefs

I believe ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Belief and faith are two different and disconnected ideals. All thinking humans have beliefs; evolution is a belief; creationism is a belief; the big bang theory is a belief; religion is a belief. We prefer to believe in that which we can see, touch and measure. Conversely; Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things NOT seen. Hebrews 11:1
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator That it is a mere religion.

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Everywhere and all the time! I suppose that if Faith were nothing more than religious ritual and/or tradition, the need for practice would be analogous to a doctor's practice. Beliefs can be changed; (true) Faith cannot. Faith is not a public production, a theme or a duty, it is the sum of who and what we are.
The song/book/film that most represents my faith is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Man of the tombs!

Religion & the Public Square

What should be the role of religion in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator The way the question is written, says much: It assumes politics as an entity with a life of its own. Policies are legal constructs of human politicians, which are a collective of (in our case) American citizens just like you and me. Thoughts and beliefs are products of our brains; how we think things ought be cannot be separated from self.
Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator The term "public" implies that whatever the law says, so be it. As "God in America" reveals, freedom is two-edged; when the majority can vote on how things are going to be, the minority must grin and bear it. Courses on religion are taught in most Universities (just Google "Religion University").
Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No. Secular public school should stick to the fundamentals of formal education (math, reading and writing, history, science, etc.).
Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Dialogue among humanity is very important: Isolating that idea to the religious takes the sight away from others who also need thoughtful dialogue.
Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I do not believe in proselytism, but if the topic comes up I will openly share.
Do you feel that you have a duty, because of your faith, to put your beliefs into action? What are some of those actions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator God changes our soul; our soul changes our mind; our mind changes our actions; our actions changes our lifestyle; our lifestyle changes our neighbors.
Are religious beliefs compromised by engaging in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator That is circumstantial: Ethics are negotiable; morality is absolute!
Has 9/11 had any impact on your thoughts about religion? Are you more/less interested in learning about other religions? Do you feel more/less comfortable expressing your religious beliefs? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No. No more, no less. No more, no less.
