A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. -- Robert A. Heinlein

How Do You Imagine God?
God in America and USA WEEKEND Magazine are partnering to explore Americans' images of God.

How do you imagine God? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I believe that God is not a single being, but many beings known by many names. We know Jesus, Hecate, Lugh, Odin, Freya, and hundreds, if not thousands of others. Each is distinct, unique, and real, and yet somehow they all come together to form a seamless whole that is, in itself, also distinct and unique.

My Beliefs

I believe ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator in the joy of faith, of prayer, of community. I believe that being in community is one of the most amazing faith things that can happen, and that the results can be bloody or beautiful depending upon the dynamics of the group. I believe in a God, a deity, that lives far beyond our labels and boxes and books.

My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator the moment when I was too young to understand, and I cried out in the night for a mother that I knew would not respond, and my other Mother responded and held me and nurtured me until I slept.

My greatest moment of doubt was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator when my life fell apart, and everything seemed to be death around me. It wasn't until I realized that they had been holding me, cherishing me, that I was finally able to try and stand up on my own.
My spiritual life means... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator everything to me. I am not involved in big rituals or massive mega-churches or anything like that. But what I do is done with love and joy, and with reverence for my gods and my world. 1 person liked this
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator two-fold. First, people assume for some reason that any god that isn't Father God of the Abrahamic faiths must then be some kind of devil. Second, too many people assume that if you're pagan you must be Wiccan and do things the way they do. 3 people liked this
