My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator When I observe galaxies, star clusters, nebulae, and the enormity of the universe with my large telescope or ponder the amazing images by the Hubble and Spitzer and other orbiting observatories, I am awed by powerful and profound feelings, that we humans, as Carl Sagan has said, are a way for the universe to know itself. 1 person liked this

The more I have lived and experienced the world during the past 70 years, I realize that belief in a God or Gods or religious traditions was a survival mechanism for early humanity. I have been studying comparative religion all my life and I have lived all over the world amongst Moslems, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Confuciusts, and many preliterate tribes in Africa, New Guinea, Australia, India, and southeast Asia. 1 person liked this

Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes. Absolutely. All significant religious literature should be taught in schools. And they should be dealt with on an equal level. I would not limit it to the Bible, the Torah, the Quran, but I would include a wide range of other religious/philosophic literature from the Hindu Vedas to the Life of Siddhartha Gautama. 1 person liked this
Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Interfaith dialogue is very important, especially if it includes the faiths of the East, India and China, whose adherents make up nearly half of the population of our planet. 1 person liked this
Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I love to discuss religion with others and I've had numerous conversations on belief with devout members of a dozen religious traditions.
Do you feel that you have a duty, because of your faith, to put your beliefs into action? What are some of those actions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I put my beliefs into action every day. That is one of the reasons I have answered these questions.

Has 9/11 had any impact on your thoughts about religion? Are you more/less interested in learning about other religions? Do you feel more/less comfortable expressing your religious beliefs? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator 9/11 had no impact on my thoughts about religion. I feel as comfortable as ever in expressing my religious beliefs.
