My Beliefs

My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator when dating girls of various faiths. many rituals where so like other religions i was exposed to. then it struck me, we are all commanded to be godlike. i do not doubt the existence of god, just each man's choice.

My greatest moment of doubt was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator as a young teenager, when i was told that jews were christ killers, and then that we were to love each other, and then babies who were not baptised, went to limbo, and that the pope was the direct link to god. it made no logical sense. but the thought of a higher being was still valid.

Are your beliefs or practices different from your parents? If so, how and why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator yes and no. they went to catholic church and i now go to temple. the services of the catholic church mimic those in temple services: clothing, arc, structure, many tenets. the psalms, old (aka real) testament, are part of the new churches that have broken away from judaism and then the catholic church.

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator i try every day to practice being a good person. i don't find it necessary to be anywhere to pray or reflect on the days errors of life.

How easy or difficult is it to live your faith? Why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator easy to live most faiths... if you understand and listen to the words without manly interjections.

Religion & the Public Square

Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator grade school no. high school yes, but only in the senior year as an elective.

Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator no. they are not works of literature.

Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator yes, ever so needed today with all the instant messaging and texting of bad things happening to innocent people in the name of country-god-religion-idolology.

Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator yes and no. i am not absolute. i will discuss the general ideas i have of my religion. however, i do not want to quote this and that back and forth. anyone wishing to ask a lot of questions, should go to a source that is more fully versed in religious matters... and not just one rabbi or one priest... three or more.

Do you feel that you have a duty, because of your faith, to put your beliefs into action? What are some of those actions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator the only one action anyone needs to put into place, as far as i am concerned, is be kind to others. most all of your teachings boil down to this one thought.

Has 9/11 had any impact on your thoughts about religion? Are you more/less interested in learning about other religions? Do you feel more/less comfortable expressing your religious beliefs? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator no. the events of 9-11 are the result of frustrated and angry individuals. terrorism is becoming a religion unto itself. if we remove the reasons for terrorism: food, shelter, clothing, real fairness in treating our neighbors with kindness rather than disdain... probably a lot fewer wars would be fought.
